Seeing that this blog's purpose is "recognizing casual games and interactive media that defy entertainment," and understanding that gamers are a collaborative, open community, it is in the best interest of yours truly to rely not only on my biased judgment in selecting quality games, but to involve the player community in selecting the best of the best. In thus doing, we promote better game design and awareness of casual games as a serious and respected genre.
In any given month, I review 8-10 games, all of which are automatically nominated for each month's Transcended Awards competition. The game that garners the most popular votes will receive that month's Award, earning a bolded listing in the Game Catalog and a nice little winner's badge on its review page. Theoretically, each person has an unlimited number of votes per game (details below). In the event of a two-way tie for first place, both winners will be recognized identically—for a three-or-more-way tie, a shorter second round will be conducted (although let's hope it doesn't go that far).
